SKATING BACKGROUND:
With more than 17 years of skating experience, Megan has traveled and competed in both USFS and ISI competitions in solo free skating events and has passed, and is continuing to pass, numerous USFS moves in the field and free skate tests. Additionally, Megan has had the opportunity to attend a variety of clinics and camps progressing her skating skills on and off the ice. Growing up, Megan worked with many coaches who helped her become the skater and person she is today. She knew she wanted to do that for others. So, she began volunteering with the Learn to Skate program in high school and after graduating in 2022, became a certified learn to skate instructor, ISI coach, ISI judge, and certified in U.S Safe Sport. Megan continues to update and further her credentials through continuing education opportunities. When Megan is not coaching you can catch her practicing for her next USFS test in her figure skates or working on hockey drills in her hockey skates; either watching or attending a hockey or baseball game; and being a dog mom to her beagle rescue, Daisy! Megan currently teaches Learn to Skate classes and offers private lessons for those wanting to learn how to skate (in either figure skates or hockey skates!) and those who want to further their skating careers both recreationally and competitively.
Fun Fact: In high school, Coach Megan put orange laces on her skates in support of the O’s and still has orange laces on both her figure and hockey skates today!
